Leisa Leonard, PhD
Dr. Leonard graduated with highest honors and highest distinction from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in psychology. She subsequently received a Rotary Foundation International Fellowship and spent a year studying psychology at the University of St. Andrews –Scotland before beginning graduate school at Fuller Theological Seminary’s School of Psychology in Pasadena, CA. While at Fuller, Dr. Leonard was awarded MA degrees in both psychology and theology as well as a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. As part of her clinical training, Dr. Leonard completed pre-internships in assessment through UCLA, an APA-approved internship in geriatrics and neuropsychology at the West Los Angeles Veterans Hospital, and a post-doctoral fellowship in geriatric psychology and neuropsychology at UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Institute and Hospital.
Before relocating to NC, Dr. Leonard served as a clinical psychologist/coordinator for the Integrated Assessment Service at UCLA’s NPI & H. From October 2002 to June 2017, she was employed as a staff neuropsychologist at Carolina Neuropsychological Service in Raleigh. She has also been involved in numerous clinical drug trials in association with the Clinical Research Center at Raleigh Neurology Associates over the last 12 years. Dr. Leonard specializes in conducting neuropsychological evaluations for adults of all ages and has a special interest in geriatrics.
